Nature has always been my primary inspiration. In my paintings I explore natural forms and the relationship between the finite and the infinite. In this particular work I am juxtaposing birds and flowers which are representative of the microcosm but they also belong to a reality which transcends them, the macrocosm. As concerns my technique I am experimenting with realism and abstraction, as the flowers and birds are painted realistically and in great detail but they are placed against an abstract background, so that there is an interplay between realism and abstraction. My intention in this work is to transmit the feeling of awe and mystery which I experience before even the minutest forms of nature.
