INSPIRATION:
Elly Richaerts, a contemporary artist, has incorporated the message of De Stijl in her paintings with a modern interpretation. Her works are characterised by the simple, geometric shapes and vibrant color blocks that are typical of De Stijl. She uses the principles of abstraction and minimalism to create a universal harmony and balance in her work.
In her paintings, Richaerts plays with the balance between line, shape, and color. She uses straight lines, squares, and rectangles to create a sense of order and structure, and combines primary colours such as red, blue, and yellow to create a lively and dynamic palette. Through the absence of unnecessary details and decorations, she achieves a sense of simplicity and purity in her work, reminiscent of the principles of De Stijl.
The message of Richaerts' paintings goes beyond the visual aspects. They evoke a sense of harmony, balance, and unity, inviting the viewer to experience the essence of shapes and colours. Her work also reflects the ideal of De Stijl to make art accessible to a wide audience, considering art as a means to transform and enrich society.
With her contemporary interpretation of De Stijl, Elly Richaerts continues to keep the message of simplicity, abstraction, and harmony of this influential art movement alive in her paintings, contributing to the ongoing relevance of De Stijl in the modern art world.
HISTORY OF CREATION:
History of creation......... Harmony is the nourishing energy that connects the chaos in the creative process of creation....... In the beginning of a drawing, lines and surfaces are still meaningless, anything is possible. But as soon as the point has come that recognisable reality can be discovered in a part of the drawing, the chaos changes into a guided process that runs more and more harmoniously and thoughtfully and ends in a harmonious composition of form and color. The original image, which could be the title, is then no longer important because the construction of form and color have taken over.
