PHOTOGRAPHY NOMINEE

The photograph "Still in Motion" is part of an ongoing series of photos taken from a train, in which every passing scene and the seers is consciously liminal. I say that because of course all of life is, looked at from a wide enough perspective - but on a train, we are all aware that we are between two points - being on the train is almost never the end in itself, and neither are the places we pass the goal. It's capturing the feel of that, suspended and fleeting, rather than any kind of technical perfection, that I'm interested in. In this respect, it's more street photography than studio, which is how I generally approach my practice.
